In May 1996, he was elected to the scientific-teaching title of assistant professor at the Medical Faculty in Zagreb for the needs of the Medical Studies in Split. He has headed the Department of Otorhinolaryngology since 1996, and in November 1999, he was elected head of the Department of Head and Neck Diseases (which combines otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, and maxillofacial surgery). In addition to otosurgery and rhinoplasty, which he devoted a significant part of his education to, both in Zagreb and abroad, and has written a master's thesis in the field of otosurgery and numerous articles in otology and rhinology, he is engaged in the application of hyperbaric oxygenation in otorhinolaryngology and sleep medicine. His work, in which Bell's paralysis was treated with oxygen, was the first in the world and is cited in the chapter: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Otolaryngology In: Jain KK, Textbook of Hyperbaric Medicine. Hogrefe & Huber Publisher, 2004: 379-380. In addition to Bell's palsy, which he treated with oxygen, he conducted research on the effects of pressurized oxygen on sudden hearing loss, and published results in cited journals, also being cited in the aforementioned book by KK Jain on page 374. Together with the head of the Department of Neuroscience, he established the "Sleep lab," the first of its kind in Croatia. The laboratory is equipped with two apartments, one clinical polysomnograph (Alice 4), and one portable (Polymesam). Additionally, in this laboratory, OSA is tested with the help of pharyngoesophageal probes to detect obstruction sites during breathing cessation. This probe is the only one of its kind and application in Croatia.
